May 28, 2022 · The .35 Remington version has a good reputation. Marlin also gave us a modern carrier and a smooth lever action. The Marlin 336 features one of the strongest extractors ever designed in a repeating rifle. We know Marlin went out of business, and we know that Ruger bought existing Marlin rights and machinery.

Remington put out a series of ads for the Model 8 & 81 touting them as bear blasters. It was considered THE bear cartridge back in the day.Like most lever-action rifles, the Marlin 336 is very easy to carry and quick to point, as it only weighs 7 pounds. Posts: 1,636. From the picture it looks pretty clean , can't see rust on other side. If rust is minimal I would say $450-$550 depending on part of the country. The 35 remington chamber does demand more money. I paid $550 for a clean 35 SC model made in 1955 a few years ago and felt price was fair.

I discovered that the forearm was loose and the band would not tighten. I replaced the band and the problem was solved. Accuracy of 35 Remington. I have a 35 Rem 336 that my Grandfather handed down to me. I have used this gun for hunting whitetails and black bears with great success. I really enjoy shooting this gun and have recently began the reloading endeavor. I have been shooting Hornady LeverEvolution 200gr factory ammo.

I am 95% sure that it was unfired prior to me owning it. Since I have it I have put 40 rounds of factory ammo through it.
